      This self-portrait is a life-sized, anatomically-correct bronze cast of my cerebral cortex. ; Embedded on the surface of the cortex is a cluster of 60 flickering, yellow LEDs resembling the statistical parametric maps used in neuroimaging research to present analyses of brain activity.

      The Day Table provides a 24-hour history of its environment by sensing and recreating ambient light levels in 24 LED strips embedded just below its surface. As the day progresses, more recent light levels appear at the right end of the table and those of a day ago disappear off of the left end.

I connected a 1080p digital projector to my laptop and projected the laptop's display onto a wall (the image was about 6ft. across). Next I connected a cheap webcam to my laptop and positioned it facing the wall, roughly centered on the projection, approximately 5ft. away, and as high as I could without casting a shadow on the projection.
