Por segunda vez City Mine(d) organiza las Jornadas KRAX, el encuentro de iniciativas creativas de Barcelona y de otras ciudades, del 23 hasta el 26 de abril de 2008. Este año nos enfocamos en los espacios culturales autónomos, como espacios públicos que apoyan la creatividad del ciudadano y donde se generan debates sobre la gestión de la ciudad. Son iniciativas autónomas de producción cultural, con nuevos modelos de (auto)gestión y con un discurso coherente ante los cambios urbanos. Hace falta que las instituciones políticas conozcan y reconozcan estos espacios, su valor y riqueza en la ciudad. Este año, las Jornadas KRAX juntan experiencias de espacios autónomos que producen cultura y ciudadanía. Queremos marcar la importancia de estos espacios como espacios de verdadera participación, alternativas e intervención ciudadana. For the second time, City Mine(d) is organising the KRAX Conference, a meeting between creative ideas in Barcelona and other cities, from April 23 to 26, 2008. This year we are focusing on urban autonomous cultural spaces - public spaces that support the creativity of a city’s residents, and generate debates about the way the city is managed. These are autonomous cultural production initiatives based on new models of (self)management and a coherent discourse in response to urban changes. There’s a need for political institutions to get to know and recognise these spaces and the value and richness they add to the city. This year, the KRAX Conference brings together experiences of autonomous spaces that produce culture and citizenship. We want to show the importance of these spaces that allow true participation, alternatives and citizen intervention. The KRAX Conference program includes debates, workshops, presentations by guest initiatives, guided tours, meetings with local initiatives and a Documentation Centre (KRAX Cargo) with the material compiled through the research process.
