Alice Aycock is a sculptor who builds "large semi-architectural projects which deal with the interaction of structure, site, materials, and the psychophysical responses of the viewer; for instance, claustrophobia / claustrophilia and vertigo. They are involved with both experimental and remembered time." Her work is found in major collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum, the Kunstmuseum in Basel, Switzerland, and the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart, Germany. In 2009 Alice Aycock completed “A Startling Whirlwind of Opportunity” a new sculpture placed on the University of Tennessee campus. Presented by the University of Tennessee School of Art
