Banda ZaBoombala performance group class got off to a partying start! We warmed up learning the samba clave pattern with steps, claps & smiles. Later, we went inside and played a warm samba groove, followed by some Brazilian-style hanging out. Banda ZaBoombala is all about FUN!
In the heart of the favela Vila Sabina at Barra Beach, Salvador-Brazil, Jú discovers a group of 12 year-old boys who formed their own band to sing and play percussion. They wrote all of their lyrics, and created most of their arrangements as well. Jú helped them to listen to each other more closely, and hear how they tightened up as a rocking percussion ensemble.
