These film clips show the sluice used to process tomatoes for seed at Johnny's Research Farm in Albion, Maine. The fruits, in this case, Black Cherry tomatoes, are crushed into a slurry. The seed is separated from the pulp in the sluice. The heavier seeds fall to the bottom while the pulp floats to the top and is pumped out of the sluice.
