Guru Purnima is an ancient Hindu holy day celebrating the Guru/disciple relationship on the full moon of the Hindu month of Ashadh. This event is hosted by Jeffrey Rodgers, featured on tabla and hammered dulcimer. In the first segment the group is performing a special arrangement of a piece by Allaudin Khan ( Ravi Shankar's teacher) called "Zilakafi." The piece is in Raga form with some modern instrumentation. In the second segment Roshan Ji (Sitar) and Jeffrey (Tabla) play an extended evening Raga. Taped in Longmont, Colorado Directed by Linda DiNoto.
