James Kalm takes a break from his Art Fair Marathon to visit this opening in Chelsea. James Siena is known for his small enamel paintings on metal, which are based on abstract interpretations of algorithmic patterns. With this, his second show with the gallery, we’re presented with several new paintings on copper and aluminum, large scale drawings and the artist introduces a new direction with a series of grotesque head studies.
