James Kalm sojourns to St. Marks Church, the epicenter of New York’s poetry world to record this celebration of the publication of Hannah Weiner’s “Open House”. Weiner (1928-1997) operated in a unique nexus of the artistic and poetic communities, she was an influential participant in the nescient performance art and L-A-N-G-U-A-G-E poetry movements. Featured in Part 1 are readings by Patrick Durgin, publisher of “Open House”, Laura Elrick, Rodrigo Toscano and Kaplan Harris.
