Frank Avila interviews Judge Patrick J. Sherlock From His Bio Patrick J. Sherlock for Illinois Appellate Court I am a Cook County Circuit Court Judge serving in the Richard J. Daley Center, where I am responsible for over 175,000 cases annually. I bring 21 years of experience as a litigation attorney to the bench, handling complex commercial litigation matters. Making fair and impartial decisions based on the law and the facts of a case is a requirement of my job. My opinions have been reviewed by the Illinois Appellate Court and have been affirmed as correct. Each person who appears before me receives a fair, impartial, and informed hearing. For many, it is their first, and may be their only, experience with a court. It is important that the people who come into my courtroom are treated with courtesy and respect.
