VICTORIA, BC: Theatre Terrific is pleased to present the world premiere of its new work, The Glass Box, Jan 29-31 at the Intrepid Theatre Club. The Glass Box is a joyful and rare glimpse into the secret lives of people and their passions. The Glass Box follows a 54-year-old wife and mother, a 23-year-old woman living with quadriplegia and a 32-year-old man with Down Syndrome who find themselves in off-beat talk show. They are given the chance to play the iconic figure of their fantasies - Sophia Loren, Cleopatra, and Brad Pitt - at the peak of their fame! On display in a glass box (set design by Naomi Sider, lights by Parjad Sharifi), the three reveal layers of themselves with music, honesty and wry humour. Director Joanna Garfinkel, (co-director Letters from Lithuania) says, "I was very intrigued to take on this work. It's an exciting, visceral and theatrical piece that lends a dramatic and humourous voice to people not often afforded it. It asks: What if you could be perceived as you are in your most secret - or wildest - fantasies? Eventually, these roles must crack and fall away, leaving both the characters and the audience changed." The Glass Box is written and performed by Susanna Uchatius, Kyla Harris, and Watson Moy, dramaturged and directed by Joanna Garfinkel. Stage manager is Nicole Lamb. It runs from Jan 29-31 at 8 pm at the Intrepid Theatre Club in Victoria (1609 Blanshard St). Tickets are $15 with a $2 membership, (January 29 pay-what-you-can at the door) and can be obtained by calling (250)383-2663 or online at www.intrepidtheatre.com.
