About this episode

Shane Solanki is an artist working in spoken word performance, music, film and live art. His first record was produced by Mercury Prize winner Talvin Singh and his first TV script was directed by Peter Cattaneo. Shane now performs unders the psedonym Last Mango in Paris , performing comic, political spoken word to a soundtrack provided by his band Bellatrix (2009 Wordl Female Beatbox Champion) on double bass and Arthur Lea on keyboards. Shortly after this brief snippet was taken Shane had to dash off for a five hour rehearsal of a play is directing whilst Bellatrix returned to work on her dissertation on jazz bass playing! Last Mango were absolutly one of the highlights of this years Insulting Cabaret (produced by the hub for International Pen). Well worth seeing..
