Launched in 1971, the International Institute for Environment and Development is a global leader in sustainable development. Our mission is to build a fairer, more sustainable world, using evidence, action and influence in partnership with others.
This programme is pioneering in nature, working closely with the new Ministry of State for the Development of Northern Kenya and Other Arid Lands, to prepare a new national strategy to get nomadic children and adults into high quality education via distance learning. This will allow nomadic communities to access education whilst herding.Kenya has committed itself to key global education targets, among them the ;Millenium Development Goals
