Hybrid Lounge

About this original series

Hybrid lounge dvd-magazine is part of a non-profit organisation fighting for tolerance and cross cultural understanding. " Hybrid Lounge Productions, vzw" is a production-house that aims to break down racial barriers and to replace fear of foreign cultures with a celebration of intercultural differences. In this post 9-11 era, it..s imperative that we make an effort to gain a better understanding to non-Western lifestyles and world-views and to start a dialogue between international communities that has the power to prevent future conflicts. As a medium that was always able to transcend the metaphysical boundaries of language, color and cultural differences, music has a rich history of inspiring unity. While informing music fans of the latest trends in world-music and related genres, we take the opportunity to tackle world-issues and human interest subjects that promote such a broader world-view through the shared interest in music, art, literature, film, culinary arts, fashion, entertainment, travel, dance, and martial arts. Hybrid Lounge is an independent force that gives a voice to the many that are never heard in the landscape of media-giants. Through the use of innovating media such as a dvd-magazine, pod-casts, and blogs and the production of concerts, t-shirt campaigns, etc..we bypass the established channels and bring the message straight to the public. Hybrid Lounge doesn'.t just refer to the different musical genres; it is a lifestyle, an ideology that cultivates community, solidarity and commitment to consciousness that allows us to traverse this increasingly tremulous intercultural terrain. It is our conviction that if we stay in step with current global trends and remain informed about world-issues, we allow our individual rhythms to beat in sync with that of the world. Rhythm is the sound of the universe connecting.
