My name is Simon Feldman and I’m a Director/Producer of Raising the Rainbow. I’m also the founder of the Hudson Valley Music Channel (http://www.hvmc.tv.) a broadband Internet TV channel covering the music scene in New York’s lower Hudson River Valley. I have always been passionate about protecting our environment and making our planet a better place to live now and for future generations. Forty-four years ago, the great American Folk singer Pete Seeger started the Clearwater Organization to raise money to clean up the Hudson River, and build a Hudson River Sloop that would sail up and down the river bringing the message of a clean, healthy and sustainable environment for all. In 2008 I collaborated with Clearwater’s “Great Hudson River Revival Music Festival” to create a documentary entitled Raising the Rainbow , held in Croton Point Park, N.Y. along side the Hudson River in mid June, the documentary follows the life cycle of this, the largest environmental/activist music festival in the United States , with behind the scenes footage and great musical performances. Additionally funds will be used for legal and marketing to help us get the word out and show at upcoming film festivals. We are aiming to release the documentary this spring, in anticipation of the 2012 Clearwater Hudson river revival.
