Mental Health Accommodations in the Workplace

Mental disorders are common in the United States and across the globe. An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older, or about one in four adults, suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. But even though they are common, there is still a stigma associated with having a mental illness. People with mental illness are often challenged by the stereotypes and prejudice that result from misconceptions about mental illness, which can carry over in to the workplace.
