This video shows DragonPlayer (using Xine backend) playing a couple of videos. fbdev is a slow driver but it's at least possible to play videos with it. Omapfb driver shows blue box or freezes the whole device instead. At the moment of typing this, xserver-xomap still has some issues, so once xomap can be used, videos will be at least as smooth they play in Maemo. (Meizirkki)
This in Mer with K Desktop Environment , version 4.2.1 running on Nokia n810. Faster than you expected? :) http://wiki.maemo.org/Mer (Meizirkki)
Again shooting the Autumn waves crashing in on rocks, but this time with a tripod. Still using the cheap digital camera to capture in 640x480 M-JPEG, before converting to Ogg Theora with the ffmpeg2theora program.
Larger than usual waves breaking over a bedrock (left) and rounded stones (bottom). No audio, so the loud sound of the stones being raked back with the tide is not heard. There is a fishing boat visible (upper left) during the first half of the film. Video captured in M-JPEG format (640x480 pixels), on a $39 Digital Concepts camera, and then converted to Ogg Theora.
