HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, INDIA began operations in 1983 with the construction of its first house, in the Asia Pacific region, at Khammam, Andhra Pradesh. In its 25 year journey, over 145,000 people have benefitted through 29,000 safe and decent houses built or repaired by Habitat. The organization works through Regional centers called Habitat Resource Centers, based in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. New partnerships with corporate supporters and NGO partners have helped extend Habitat's presence to the rest of India.
