Foreigners are not allowed to leave their Hotel in Bam without police escort. That is since one Japanese tourist was kidnapped in Bam 6 months ago. That’s why I was lucky to have this pleasant guide for my visit to the ruins of old town Bam, the Arg-e-Bam, which was mostly destroyed by the earthquake in 2003.
