From the 1960s to the early 1990s, Texaco, now Chevron, allegedly dumped 18 billion gallons of oil and toxic waste into the Amazon Rainforest of Ecuador, creating a ?cancer death zone? the size of Rhode Island. CRUDE follows the case of a class-action suit brought on behalf of 30,000 rainforest dwellers against the company. The film follows the lawyers, the science but most imporatnatnly the people of this part of the Amazon, in their fight against Big Oil. We're joined by the director and producer of this remarkable documentary, acclaimed filmmaker, Joe Berlinger and actress and activist, Trudie Styler who, along with her husband Sting, co-founded the Rainforest Foundation 20 years ago.
