Michael Oliva has always been community minded and while volunteering with Achilles International discovered his passion for long distance running. Soon together with Michael Arnstein, the fruitarian, started the Holiday Marathons. These were an immediate hit with both the local community with its charitable component and with runners worldwide as it brought the ultra-marathon spirit to the Bronx's Van Cortlandt Park.
