Calgarians came together to protest cuts to CBC which would cost 800 CBC employees their jobs. R4NT.com was on the scene to help add confusion. At $34 per year, CBC is currently receives less per capita than BBC ($124) or... whatever the hell they have in France ($77).Since it is increasingly challenging (recession or not) for news organizations to support investigative journalism, and a solid alternative to newspapers has not yet been established... I would venture that the CBC is more important than ever.
