This morning, former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) joined the House GOP's ongoing national protest over the decision by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to adjourn the House without a vote on legislation to lower gas prices and increase American energy production. During his visit to Capitol Hill, Gingrich and several House Republicans held a news conference in the Capitol to deliver a message of lower gas prices and energy independence on behalf of the 1.4 million Americans who have signed a petition demanding that Congress increase American energy production. Gingrich was joined at the news conference by Republican Conference Chairman Adam Putnam (R-FL), as well as Reps. Rob Bishop (R-UT), Virginia Foxx (R-NC, and Chris Shays (R-CT).
