http://live.pirillo.com/ - Divine, a new member in the chat room, wanted to know how to kick people off his wireless network. In this case, the best offense is a good defense: you should set up a MAC address filter.MAC stands for Media Access Control, and it's a 12 digital hexadecimal number - and every network enabled device has a MAC address. What you need to do is set up a filter list in your wireless router configuration software (which is usually accessed via your web browser). When you set up your filter list you are setting up a whitelist of addresses which will be allowed to access your network. If any device with a MAC address not on the filter list will not be allowed to use your wireless connection.Washington University in St. Louis has a great write-up on how you can find your MAC address. This is only one step you can take. We highly recommend securing your network with WPA security and a difficult to guess password.Want to embed our Wireless LAN Security video in your blog?
