Lt Col (retired) Rick Coveno speaks about his 2004 deployment to Baghdad Iraq with the Iraq Survey Group (ISG). The Mission of the Iraq Survey Group was to find out the truth about the Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) programs. The intelligence specialist and engineering experts of the Iraq Survey Group used a combination of captured documentation, interrogations, site surveys and engineering crime scene investigation to determine Iraqi weapons development programs. Rick Coveno is currently an aircraft modification and installation engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and an independent aircraft structural repair and modification consultant. His 20 year Air Force career included service as an aircraft engineer and program manager working on the F-4, A-10, F-16, F-22, F-117 (Stealth), EC-135, E-4, E-8B (Joint STARS) aircraft and foreign military aerospace system. He had tours of duty, in Germany, California, Utah, Ohio and Massachusetts and did missions in Korea, Bosnia, Turkey and throughout Europe. From Feb to Jun 2004 he deployed to Baghdad Iraq with the Iraq Survey Group where he analyzed Iraqi missiles and unmanned aircraft for their capability to deliver Weapons of Mass Destruction.
