Freedom.fm is live improvisation of electronic music. The release of new instruments like Native Instruments Maschine, APC40, Ableton Live and Revolution, are enabling musicians to break new ground by ‘making music up in the moment’ rather than say playing pre-recorded records or mp3’s. That’s why we recently began live broadcasting Freedom.fm. Founder, Steve Freedom, hopes to develop a global gathering of followers of regular online shows by him and fellow improvisers. The live broadcast of improvised electronic music focused on club dance styles and genres is a metaphor for life itself since we have to ‘keep on making it up. Musicians and listeners are seeing and hearing something for the first time, all the time. Freedom.fm is ever evolving, live and exhilarating and offers unrepeatable performances to listeners all over the world. Who knows what you’ll hear next.
freedom.fm - live improvisation of psytrance music and video. Using Native Instruments Maschine, Ableton Live, Future Retro, Resolume Avenue making the music and video up in the moment. Only samples used are vocals from my tracks "Feeling in my Heart" and "Come on Baby". Enjoy!
Steve Freedom slices and dices Native Instruments Maschine, chops Traktor Scratch Pro out of the picture and crossfades with Akai APC40. Maschine is stretched to the max! Future-Retro Revolution provides depth and bass. There are no mp3 songs or loops or cuepoints. All sounds are produced by Maschine and it's FX. (appols for slight latency - to be fixed next week) http://www.freedom.fm
I think Native Instruments Maschine is the first real musician's 'electronic instrument'. Used with Ableton Live and APC40 its helping me get rid of my puter, my screen and my mouse when playing. 'Improviza - the original' - Enjoy - http://www.freedom.fm
