NIGHT OF PSALMS AND PRAISE 2007 -- The motion team of New Hope Presbyterian Church college group performed to the song "East to West" by Casting Crowns. The performance was a highlight of the church's annual Night of Psalms and Praise (NoPP) 2007, held in November of that year. The Night of Psalms and Praise is billed as the biggest event of the academic year for the community of the church's English ministry. It is a night that is dedicated to outreach through performances, musical selections, dances, body worship (motion), skits, and other group activities. "East to West" is a song by the contemporary Christian group Casting Crowns. It was the first single off of their 2007 album The Altar and the Door, and was nominated for a GRAMMY in 2008. In “East To West,” lead vocal Mark Hall tackles the all-too-familiar skepticism with which we humans embrace forgiveness. “We have a hard time with the concept of forgiveness,” he says. “We cut ourselves and it heals, but the scar remains. Sometimes we think God treats sin like we would if we were God, and that he handles forgiveness like we would. We know he forgives, but we can’t accept that God chooses to forget and relinquishes his right to avenge.” Edited and produced by Philip Kim and Clarence Chan.
