Featuring staff and activities at Denver's largest brewery: Flying Dog. We make beer, we drink beer, we sell beer. Now on video.
Something we did a few years back was to host the Flying Dog Beer Drinker's Marathon, where marketing lackey Chris Rippe kicked Eric Warner's ass in a short race and was rewarded with being President for a day. Well, two weeks ago we were at it again. Chris raced his boss, Neal "I'm Kind of a Big Deal" Stewart, around our brewery. The pace was furious, especially considering the quantities of beer that was imbibed - at one point in the evening, Rippe was drinking Double Dog Double Pale Ale out...
What makes someone a notable drunk in our eyes? Well, if you're Zane Lamprey, it's because you get paid to fly to exotic locales, meet new interesting people from different cultures, and ultimately get drunk with those people. Zane, the host of Three Sheets (which up until Dec 2008 has been aired on the MojoHD channel), was gracious enough to grant us an interview while we were at the Great American Beer Fest. He was every bit as nice as you'd imagine from watching him on the television, but w...
700 eager Flying Dog fans Brewery showed up to our inaugural FBAG (short for Flying Dog, Brats & Gonzo) on the afternoon of Friday, October 10, 2008. We had several self-serve beer stations pouring our Canis Major series brews, brats on the grill, as well as our newest Wild Dog release, Dog Schwarz. Dog Schwarz is a smoked double lager, and Matt Brophy (our VP of Brewing Operations) lets you know what it's all about. Music by The Rob Drabkin Band - robdrabkin.com
GABF - The Great American Beer Festival. Close to 2000 beers from 400 breweries. And 40,000 people drinking those beers over 4 sessions. The people are ridiculous sometimes. Just like Notable Drunk #1.You may remember this dude's racket from a recent feature-length film, but then again... his impression isn't really spot-on, but we loved his dedication to the role.
What happens when you get 2,500 excited fans of Flying Dog Brewery in the same place? Gonzofest happens. Flying Dog beer, live music, chili competitions and no rain made for lots of happy attendees. We documented the day's festivities for you in a short video. If you missed it, you're not going to want to miss next year's Gonzofest.
At Flying Dog's Gonzofest party, we were lucky enough to get footage of a dude who wasn't so lucky. He went up against a Habañero with only a few glasses of Flying Dog beer in his corner. Needless to say, the dude was overmatched.Flying Dog BreweryFrederick, MarylandSeptember 13, 2008
Artomatic is an art event in Washington. This year's Artomatic is taking place through June 15, 2008 and has 800 artists showing in 250,000 square feet of a newly-built office building. 50,000 people are anticipated throughout the 6 weeks the show is up. Artomatic also sells beer. Which is where Flying Dog Brewery comes in as Artomatic's official beer sponsor! The spectacle of Artomatic was unbelievable. We knew the event would be big, but we were completely unprepared for the scope of this th...
Flying Dog Brewery was one of the supporting breweries at the first-ever Savor festival in Washington D.C. Every beer that was being poured at Savor was also paired with some food, from raspberry-filled artisan chocolates to Empanadas with Mango Salsa and everywhere between. Savor was held in the Andrew Mellon Auditorium, a very unique location for a beer festival, a block off the Mall right near the Washington Monument. Enthusiastic beer and food connoisseurs descended upon Washington to expe...
