Boston Public Schools were faced with substantial budget cuts for the 2009-2010 school year. The 2009-2010 BPS budget initially called for hundreds of layoffs. Teachers, administrators, students, parents, and interested members of the community testified at a series of public hearings organized by the Boston School Committee.
