hats true, students are trying to communicate, which is a good thing.

But who is the DPS officer supposed to 'listen' to? This video shows ONE single DPS officer, and a MULTITUDE of students trying to communicate to him AT THE SAME TIME!

I actually am impressed with how he is keeping calm. Suppose he feels threatened and attempts to flee? in the process, he would have to shove his way out of that central position in a MOB, and someone would DEFINATELY GET HURT. The students would then start saying they were assaulted.

For heaven's sake! Communication does not mean HECKLING! I am sure that officer would have listened to ONE student IN A GROUP, not ALL THE STUDENTS AT THE SAME TIME.

I am sure these protesters have legitimate grounds/reasons (even the dull and ignorant have their say, and should be listened to). But let there be civility and proper communication.

Communication is TWO-WAY. Give and take. Patiently.

Every problem has a solution, and our challenge is to find it. I don’t believe violence, laying a building siege, or insults and belittling another is a means to that solution.

Students should hold their protests somewhere where they are not preventing others from going on with their lives. There are other students who are intent on completing their studies and going out into the world to make a living, and these should not be prevented from going to class! There are also faculty who are keen on molding young minds and imparting knowledge to them. These should not be prevented from doing so.

Therefore, let students hold their protests in open ground, where they can have full and open access to the entire world through the media and air their grievances, but let them not block other students from going on with their education. No one will be able to fake-call in a bomb in a football field!

The above comment was meant for the other clip "Communication Breakdown with DPS"

My husband and I are both Gallaudet graduates and met on campus. We both fell shame at these students and their bad behavior!.

As a Gallaudet graduate (99'), a Deaf women and proud member of the Deaf community, I would like to say a few things. First, the protest in 1988 and the protest now are two very different animals. While the protest in 88 was not just ensuring a qualified Deaf person was appointed President, it was also about the Deaf community making itself hear to the world.

All most can see from this recent protest, is the immatue way these students are acting. If there are justified points to this new protest, the blatant immature actions of the students are overshowing them. ANYONE can see from these so called "assult" videos, that the STUDENTS WERE WRONG. If they want to get their cause heard , & their protest taken seriously then they MUST ACT LIKE ADULTS and not like kids still in high school, or brats throwing tantrums!.

How can theses students expect people to support them, when they show NO RESPECT for others. It was CLEAR that the STUDENTS BULLIED the DPS guard in the other video and provoked him.

We understand & respect the need to protest, but the students are totally wrong in their behavior. THEREFORE, my husband and I FULLY SUPPORT THE BOARD DECISION and support Dr. Jordon's stand

Some words of advice to the students. Act maturely and your concerns will be taken more seriously by the Gally Board. Until then, you are only making yourselves look like asses and giving the Deaf community a black eye!!

God Bless I. King Jordon and God Bless Gallaudet University
