This video clearly shows that the Gally students are being facetious and they are obviously provoking the DPS. No wonder the DPS are having to use pepper spray now. As an unbiased person, it appears that the 'actors' in this movie that are pushed are embellishing the push from the security guard that is trying to get through. If anything, the 'actors' should be ashamed for stooping to a level like this in order for their opinions to be heard. This is not the way to do it.

guys, after looking at this video it's clear that the protesters are asking the officer to leave especially given that there's a lockdown, and that the officer used intimidation and unnecessary pushing and shoving. police officers are supposed to avoid such potentially unlawful use of force. shame on dps!!

The security guard was trying to leave, but the people were blocking him in and pressuring him. If you're blocking someone trying to get out or away, of course they will try to move you aside so they can leave. I'm not referring to the security guard as Bubba, because it's obvious that the people here are assuming that its the former football player, when it obviously isn't.

What I see is a security guard trying to enter the building, and students using physical force to stop him. When you push someone, or block them.. they have a RIGHT to push back. Self-defensive. Simple. He has a job, he is NOT JKF... He's not the enemy. Suppose someone was hurt in the building, he's gotta patrol the building.. .make sure protestors arent destroying stuff... He's not gonna hinder the protest and the BoT decision.

Assault on Deaf Gallaudet Students???? I have to be honest with you...the title should be said as "Gallaudet Protestors Assaulted on Gallaudet Security Guard." This video showed that Galladuet security was risking his life in the danger. See that lady in her red sweater? She tried to get in the security's face. If I were in the security's shoes, I would put the handcuff on her.
Being DEAF and a 1999 graduate of Gallaudet, I fail to see why these few students are protesting Jane's appointment as incoming President. If and I say if..there was NO other qualified, Deaf person then Jane was chosen as the next best person to fill the spot. Whether she is Deaf, deaf or hard of hearing SHOULD MAKE NO DIFFERNCE, AS LONG AS SHE DOES THE BEST FOR GALLAUDET!. Now granted, if there WAS someone better qualified and Deaf then the board should have gone with that person. But, from what I know there was not. From this video, it seems like the students were provoking the guard. THE STUDENTS WERE THE AGGRESSORS clearly. ALL THESE STUDENTS ARE DOING IS CHEAPING THEIR CAUSE BY ACTING LIKE BRATS, instead of like mature young adults. Knowing that they insulted Dr. Jordon and his family at a Gally event (ruining it for others) just further shows they are NOT ready for the real world, but rather prefer to stay in their high shcool mentality.

Bubba always has been and still is a supporter of the STUDENTS at Gallaudet! His main concern is their safety! He's not the bad guy.... he has a job to do. The students in the video got in his face. Why couldn't you just let him patrol the building and do his job? If you want to protest, then do it peacefully. Don't ruin someone's reputation and career with childish taunting and getting in someone's face. Bubba certainly doesn't deserve to be portrayed as a bad guy. If you are ever in trouble, Bubba's the one you would want right there with you. He has a warm smile and a big heart. He has always gone out of his way to do what is best for the students at Gally.
The students aren't being mature in their approach to this "protest" (more like a temper tantrum cuz they aren't getting their own way). A university's main priority is to educate. Let Gallaudet get back to the business of educating students and stop this childish nonsense.

As a Gally alum, after reviewing this video clip, it is determined that the students went too far. It is very unfortunate students fail to realize Bubba is part of Gally community for many years. You students asked for it, now you're paying for the consequence of your action. This clip clearly shows the DPS officer is trying to do the job. You would not block the DC police officer, if it's the case then why would you block DPS officer whose primary job is to protect the university? I have hearing friends who doesn't understand you deaf students' action in the protest. They are wondering if the "dumb" is not supposed to be removed from "deaf and dumb", it's because you are dumb for the action you're conducting.

My husband and I are both Gallaudet graduates and met on campus. We both fell shame at these students and their bad behavior!.
As a Gallaudet graduate (99'), a Deaf women and proud member of the Deaf community, I would like to say a few things. First, the protest in 1988 and the protest now are two very different animals. While the protest in 88 was not just ensuring a qualified Deaf person was appointed President, it was also about the Deaf community making itself hear to the world.
All most can see from this recent protest, is the immatue way these students are acting. If there are justified points to this new protest, the blatant immature actions of the students are overshowing them. ANYONE can see from these so called "assult" videos, that the STUDENTS WERE WRONG. If they want to get their cause heard , & their protest taken seriously then they MUST ACT LIKE ADULTS and not like kids still in high school, or brats throwing tantrums!.
How can theses students expect people to support them, when they show NO RESPECT for others. It was CLEAR that the STUDENTS BULLIED the DPS guard in the other video and provoked him.
We understand & respect the need to protest, but the students are totally wrong in their behavior. THEREFORE, my husband and I FULLY SUPPORT THE BOARD DECISION and support Dr. Jordon's stand
