Thank you for the well produced video. I've been tinkering with og panels, and this made things more clear. However, I don't seem to have the view as tab option. We do have the latest og, panels and views. What else could I be missing?

The "View" tab was a bug. If you set a panels page as your group home, you'll have that tab's name rather than "view".

I need to be more clear, apologies. Thanks for the response. When you want to customize the layout of your panel, there was an option for tabs. The sweet js that switched between content without reloading the page. We don't have this option in our display.
