It is very infuriating. Joyce is charged with assault, well how come 5 cops are not charged with assault. She walked away and was assaulted. The police are creating all of these crimes, creating trouble while they basically commit the crimes and perpetrate the trouble. They lie on all the police reports and arrest people for nothing. I feel very sick, very sick about this country. It is very clear why they do not want anything filmed. It proves their lies.
It does not seem enough to have the charges dismissed. These liars and criminals on the force need to be punished and removed, or at least punished since they are all like this and then maybe they will behave.
lcd, gotta disagree with you. This is good work, yes, but it's only excellent if it is used to bring the officers shown abusing their power to justice.
There's something in the video, and in most American's heads, that needs to be corrected.
None of our Rights were given to us by the Constitution, they are Rights given us by our Creator that were enumerated in the Constitution. They cannot be taken away. If we believe our Rights are granted us by a piece of paper, they we've already lost them.
brokbok is right.
The Constitution is NOT where we get our rights. The Constitution is where We the People grant certain limited privileges to the government.
The Bill of Rights is NOT a list of rights that we have. It is a list of things that the government is not allowed to do.
It says..."Congress shall make no law...." and "....shall not be infringed".
If those police were private, their employer would sued for substantial damages whereas government police pretty much have immunity. The solution is to privatize them.
actually... one must identify oneself if asked by the police in most states. NY has a " Stop and Identify " law. These laws have been challenged in court and have be ruled constitutional. So when Lin refused to identify herself she was in violation of a LAWFUL request. You can't just walk away from the police like that. Thats just common sense. If you refuse to identify yourself the police can legally detain you for up to 72 hours while they determine who you are. Or if you choose to only state your name and not show ID..they can legally detain you until they verify your identity.
Actually - you can just walk away...
http://www.oag.state.ny.us/press/reports/stop_frisk/ch2_part1.html
The United States Supreme Court has held that "[a citizen] may not be detained even momentarily without reasonable, objective grounds for doing so; and his refusal to listen or answer does not, without more, furnish those grounds."59 Similarly, the refusal to identify oneself will not alone give rise to "reasonable suspicion."60
New York courts, likewise, have held that, while police officers may pose nonthreatening questions seeking basic information -- e.g., regarding identity, address or destination -- when they have an objective, credible reason to do so, civilians are not required to answer or to provide proof of identity.61 Although some verbal responses to questions at this level can provide a basis for greater intrusion, such as obviously false answers, officers may not effect a more intimidating level-two "common law" inquiry, nor a level-three "stop," based solely upon a civilian's refusal to answer or failure to provide identification.62
2. Avoidance of Police/ Nervous Reaction Upon Questioning
The United States Supreme Court has likewise held that a citizen who does not wish to answer police questions may disregard the officer's questions and walk away.63 Refusal to answer an officer's questions, standing alone, does not satisfy the constitutional "reasonable suspicion" test.64
Under governing New York law, an individual has a constitutional right to refuse to respond to questions posed by a police officer, may remain silent, and may even walk away without fearing an arrest or detention by the officer.65 "Flight alone . . . or in conjunction with equivocal circumstances that might justify a police request for information is insufficient to justify pursuit because an individual has a right âto be let alone' and refuse to respond to police inquiry."66
Finally, "[i]n light of the recognized âunsettling' aspect of a police-initiated inquiry of citizens," some New York courts have held that nervous reaction to nonthreatening questioning is not sufficient to authorize a greater intrusion.
The fact that the officers lied in their reports should speak for itself but people should be able to recognize that the officers acted in unison. People should question why they act in unison.
The officers are CONDITIONED to do what they do because they are TRAINED this way! Conditioning is just another form of brainwashing or control. They feel as though they are "doing their job".
Time for everyone to get their blinders off and hold on before the ride gets really bumpy!
This sort of trash makes me infuriated, to the point that a little part of me was sitting on a rooftop with a high powered rifle during these travisities.
The reason this video makes me so angry is that it shows what's wrong with the world today. If you're not a rich white man or woman you basically don't count.
All of those cops should be fired.
this is why hippies should learn to fight.
i would fight any one of those cops one on one and win.
300 cyclists? kick the shit out of those pieces of alcoholic, donut-eating human waste.

As an American, you have that right. Honestly I am surprised that a people with the history of the United States would stand for the actions of your government. That is why you have the second ammendment. To remind the government that the people have the option of removing it, by force, if nessisary.
"...what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it's natural manure." - From Thomas Jefferson to William Smith
Wow.. I quote Jefferson and it gets taken down.. you guys ARE aware that he is one of the founding fathers right? Here is the quote again. It is the FULL quote of the famous "Tree of Liberty" letter From Thomas Jefferson to William Smith regarding the "insurection", as he put it, in Massachusetts
"what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Seems clear to me what the founder of your nation would tell you to do.
Opps. Looks like I was just impatient waiting for my comment to appear. Tried to delete it and got and error.
My bad.
It is sickening how these police men blatantly lie and face no consequences from it. How about solving some real crime and actually serving the public?
This is absolutely and utterly ridiculous. The behavior that these policemen are showing just seems like a way to relieve frustration through easy and arbitrary arrests, at the expense of innocent people.
Excellent work on putting this video together. Kudos to everyone in this video standing up for their rights.

Are yousaying that were you in such a position you might have been inclined to 'take them out with a rifle", them meaning "the officers on the scene"?
This kind of thoughthink is doubledanger to the courts online like this.
This video made me sick! I am sure there was some other bigger crime going on while they were wasting their time and the courts time on these people! How scary this world has gotten! Heather New York Luxury Hotel
I'm getting really tired of stories of the NYPD being an actual threat to the citizens of New York City. Here's another video, this one featuring Sgt. Timothy Horohoe violently interacting with cyclists, photographers, and so on. The cyclists were a part of Critical Mass, a group which in itself has been frequently abused by police when conducting their rides. Withanxiety.com offers zanexzanax buydiazapamxanex

Very interesting topic, I was watching full video and I liked a lot, Keep it.
This really is a nice and interesting video of NYPD accountable 12 minute version. N.Y.P.D. is the title of a half-hour American television health insurance crime drama of the 1960s set in the context of the New York City Police Department. The program appeared on the ABC network during the 1967-68 and 1968-69 television seasons. In both seasons, the program appeared work from home in the evening, 9:30 p.m. time slot. During the second season, N.Y.P.D was joined by The Mod Squad and It Takes a Thief to form a 2 1/2 hour block of crime dramas. Thanks for sharing the nice video.
