I have long felt that there needs to be a more robust challenge at the primary level in some of these districts who have a stagnant leadership base in the democrat party. For example in my district in NC we have the same dem congressman who votes like a republican and never approaches voters until it is time to raise money every other year for the last decade. There is no serious challenge from progressive or any other dems and the repubs don't bother running a serious candidate because he is so milktoast there is no point. His biggest accomplishment are about earmarks. Never takes a stand on anything controversial. No public debates, no town meetings to find out what the constituency is interested in. I think that any challenge to an encumbent should be supported if only because it forces them to debate with someone about something. I have thought about trying to find someone to run against my congressman myself many times.I am not from your district but I encourage you to go for it.
