It's critical that we begin an constructive dialogue about health care in this nation. Special interests and politics prevent any meaningful discussion and action on a national level. Former Governor Kitzhaber has the right idea. Make the issues associated with health care a grass roots movement and make the elements understandable to citizens. As a native and resident of Oregon, I'm excited that he is leading this effort here. His plan may not be perfect, but this is a journey and many details will work themselves out. The key is to start. I commend former Governor Kitzhaber for taking the lead in making this a national security issue, an economic competitiveness and survival issue, and a human values issue. We all must care about this and act now.
