I never post comments on websites, but I have to say this is briliant. Is there a way you can post this where more people can here and see this. Thank you so much for your effort and your insight. Go Obama08!!!!!

Amazing and Articulate. I must admit that Hillary Clinton has left me feeling rather ambivalent. This video speaks right from the heart of the matter.

I live in New Orleans in the Musician's Village on a block with a number of older African-American musicians. They all have Obama signs in their front yards - one of them, Smokey Johnson (Fats Domino's for 30 years) told me - "I never thought I'd see this day."

And while I don't want to overemphasize the role of race/ethnicity here, I feel we are witnessing the potential for a historic turn in both our nation's legacy and our place in the world.

Go Obama!!!!

Very nice presentation....but I have two rebuttals: I am writing from recall, so please forgive if I misquote...I assure you it is not intentional.

You speak of Bill Clinton lacking moral courage, and cite the example of backing down on the issue of gays in the military. As a gay person, and a person who was discharged from the navy in 1982 due to homosexuality I still praise clinton for being the first presidential candidate to have the moral courage to propose equality during his presidential race. Although it was a weak win, it was the biggest step I had seen in my lifetime up until that point, and perhaps paved the way to acceptance of the rights we have obtained in some states. It is the only advance on a federal level that I can recall regarding gay rights. I realize the candidate we are looking at now is hillary and not bill, but I do wonder where barack stands on gay rights issues. I pay the maximum allowed into social security. Will my partner, for whom I am the sole financial support, ever be able to receive social security benefits when I die?

The second point you make is regarding change, and you infer that people who make compromises may not be really changing things at all.....For example: If hillary works within the current system, accepting contributions, and simply wants to change from republican principles to democtratic principles, she is not going to bring about true change. I find this explanation oversimplified. As a physician, I make changes in medications gradually. I find that extreme change often results in over-correction, and unless the situation is one of imminent danger, the risk outweighs the benefit. While our system needs correction, I believe it would be reactionary to say that we are in such imminent danger that we cannot work within established networks, using compromise, to bring about change......after all, our ideas are not the only ones worth pursuing, and there are a lot of conservatives in the country who deserve our respect in dealing with them. I will be pleased with either candidate, although I have not heard enough meat in barack's speeches to really know how he plans to implement change. I still believe that Hillary has the experience and knowledge of this political machine, and personal contact with foriegn diplomats and heads of state to make progress a reality.
