I built my own LED matrix using the information here to set up the wiring, and the code from here to interface with the MAX7219. Be sure to pay attention to the pin assignments and be sure to uncomment the correct code in the loop() function.

Wow! That's really nice! I'd love to make something similar. Any idea where I can go to find out more? p.s. I only have a vague idea of what an arduino is! Lets say I am beginner level!
