The Tepehua Indians Fire Dance for Carnival 2007

TheTepehua town of Huehuetla, Hidalgo Is the only community in the state . The every year at the beginning of lent the Tepehua to celebrate with dances the festival in a large market . The three days preceding Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the festival . They're over five different types of dancers those Joan here in this video or the Comanches and the devil's . They all representative of evil and death .

There are about 3,000 people in the town and surrounding communities . This region gross coffee corn beans squash avacados and there is a growing herbal medicine industry ....

the fire dance is the final act of a two week celebration , the dancers runs for the fire barefoot two times .
