Jalopy is a multi-faceted organization that serves as a music school, instrument repair and retail shop and a café. Additionally, it’s an art gallery and a quaint performance space, where you can hear an amazing range of roots music, from African to Folk, and Blues to Jazz. The brainchild of adorably old-school couple, Geoff and Lynette Wiley, the Red Hook storefront was strategically conceived as a type of one-stop-shop, where the complimentary businesses would help support each other. We especially enjoyed their Wednesday night Roots and Ruckus show, where you can catch a night of folk, old-time and blues music, and hear musicians play everything from banjos to washboards, with a compellingly retro vibe.
