c(1992) greenhouse affect music BMI, HELLO, THIS IS 'IRIE BOB' recorded October 1992 with clarke higgins playing all instruments, Higgins states he would first record the drums just alone whilst humming the way the song would go in his head, //he would then go and add rythm guitar to the drum tracks with music studio engineer Bill Krodel at El Segundo California's Jet City Sound Studios, India
'Irie Bob" (BMI) written in 1992 . Story behind the song...clarke higgins says that the original idea came from listening to Captain Beefheart and 'Funhouse' by Iggy and the Stooges, a simple gentle 'indie rock' guyitar chords strum followed by big drums a loud chorus in the tradition of david bowie chorus style songs like "theres a starman waiting in the sky' from ziggy stardust, "david bowie' would use like these big melodic chorus parts that had like nothing to do with the rest of the song,..there was always a big chorus part" say clarke higgins "and we would creat songs like 'Precarious' and "snake' with phil keegan on guitar ..where we would craft and build our songs around the 'chorus' part...i remember david bowie on hunky dory would do this too" // "our song '3/4' and 'a current affair' we always would have strong song structure built around choruses and heavy guitar parts back around '89' ...keegan had this song called '6 feet under' where he came into the studio and really proved that he could write great songs all by himself,..he was a self contained musician and is well known today as Los Angele's greatest guitarist now,..i feel he has erned it !...back when we started we all used fender amps, keegan had a wah wah peddle and he would always......
