PR is by most definitions a mysterious and often dark art form, one which lurks beneath the surface quietly pulling invisible strings.

We all know the stereotypical image of the vacuous, bubble-headed PR girl with a nice line in blanket enthusiasm.

But do we also know that in times of downturn a well-run PR outfit is good value for marketing money and might well be worth a punt.
