MIA is the leading promoter of international performing arts in the North West. The organisation is driven to bring the best international work and local community arts to the widest possible public audience. MIA festivals and events have an all important goal - to create an exciting, energising atmosphere in a town or city centre that maximises its existing potential, (shops, cafes, restaurants, open spaces and squares), by the addition of carefully chosen special events. These are all free or nearly free, with an inclusive family friendly atmosphere and an appeal to people from many different cultures. Unique in its field as a showcase for professional outdoor work, x.trax has provided the opportunity for artists to appear at some of the most prestigious festivals and venues in cities all over the world. x.trax is one of the partners of Without Walls, a consortium of 8 of the UK's most strategically significant street arts festivals.
