When you upload a video to Blip, we convert it to Flash Video for web playback. Our converter can handle a very wide range of formats successfully, but sometimes there are problems. Here are some of the possible errors and things you can do about them.
If your video failed to convert and you don't understand why, you can contact us to ask us to take a look at it for you. Please be sure to let us know the URL of the video page, the text of any error messages, and the name of the program you used to create it, as well as any other information that you think might help us to identify the problem.
Our converter tried to process your video but it couldn't read the information that it needed to handle the video properly. This may mean that the video was damaged or of an unknown type.
We converted your video, but the audio track couldn't be converted. Most often, this is because the audio was encoded using an unknown codec, but it may also mean that the video is damaged.
Try playing your video on different computers. If it plays correctly on your computer but not on a different computer, that probably means that you used a codec that isn't widely supported. Try re-saving your video using a more widely-used codec and then re-uploading.

An error occurred while we were trying to convert your video. This may mean that something went wrong with the converter while it was working, or it could mean that your video is damaged or of an unknown type.
If something goes wrong with the converter, we usually notice it and re-convert your video automatically, so the problem is most likely to be with the video itself. Check your original video to make sure that it plays successfully. You can also try playing it on someone else's computer to make sure that it doesn't depend on some software that's only available on your computer. If this doesn't reveal any problems, contact us and we'll take a look at it. Please let us know which authoring software you used to create the video.
To prevent any one video from tying up our converter too long, we put a limit on the time that the converter will work on a video. If your video takes too long to convert - or if we think it will take too long to convert - the converter stops work and records an error.
The time required to convert a video depends on various factors. It's hard to predict which videos will and won't convert successfully, but as a rule high-resolution videos and long videos take longer to convert.
If your video takes too long to convert, there are various things that you can do to solve the problem.
