About this series:
If your classic gaming skills and knowledge are weak, train them at the Famicom Dojo! Follow the roots of the multi-billion dollar industry with its forefathers into Japan, as consoles and games exploded onto foreign shores. Learn why cartridge games needed batteries to save your progress, or why cartridges were even used at all! Why do some games have passwords? Why didn't games and consoles have the same names when they went to the US or Europe? If you seek answers, this is the show for you!

See more at FamicomDojo.TV: http://famicomdojo.tv/season1/famicom-and-disk-system In our first episode, we introduce the namesake of the show, and Nintendo's first independent effort at a home video console that would soon become a household name: the Famicom! Wait, "Famicom"? You may know it as the Nintendo Entertainment System (or "NES" for short), but our little gray toaster started life overseas as a mean red-and-cream machine that would take Japanese youth by storm. What's more, there were fantastic accessories never released outside of Japan, such as the Famicom Disk System attachment -- although one look at your trusty NES proves that Nintendo intended otherwise! Famicom Dojo is produced by That's Orange, LLC.
