Joseph Coompson on AfDB coordination and harmonisation role among donors

Brussels, 2 june 2008. Mr. Joseph Coompson, Chief Agricultural Economist at the African Development Bank informed participants in the Brussels briefing of 2 July 2008 that the AfDB has been mandated to coordinate a task force working on the issue of division of labour among donors in the agricultural sector. At a recent meeting, the different stakeholders agreed on a matrix prepared by the AfDB, that will now be finalised and shared among partners. This matrix will provide broad indications of the different areas where various institutions are working, and serve as a basis for enhanced cooperation between 'old' and 'new' development actors.More: http://brusselsbriefings.net/

We have been working with Social Media tools since they first emerged. We experimented on ourselves, finding ways in which the applications could support the work of the Euforic cooperative. On the basis of that experimentation we began to provide training and support and training to people and organisations working in international development. We were at the centre of the ground-breaking web2fordev conference in 2007 and since then have continued to evolve our ideas and services. The Euforic cooperative closed at the end of 2009. With the full support of the Board, Euforic staff and associates formed a company to continue the training and support functions.
