Brussels, 23 June 2009. According to Enrico Giovannini (OECD) indicators are very important for advocacy, policy design and accountability. A lot of work needs to be done in regards to MDGs indicators, especially to improve the coherence between national and international indicators. However the key question is: Who will finance this statistical development? There's a clear lack of investment in this field. Further, this statistical development should also look into additional indicators such equity and inequality.
