Addis Ababa, 19 October 2010. Owen Barder, Visiting Fellow at the Center for Global Development and Director of aidinfo was the key note speaker at the opening session of the AgKnowledge Shair Fair. He defined development as an "evolutionary process" where we have to "try, fail and learn", a process that begins with variation and then selection." In this sense, we need to have a diversity of ideas in development, ideas that "have sex with each other" and from here we find out what's working. If we want an evolutionary development process we need to engage with people and listen to people. For that, we need free open information that everybody can access and use and reuse for what it matters and it is useful for them.See more at www.sharefair.net Less
