A. C.

UCLA Law Student. Part of the walk outs. Mexican-Filipino from Modesto. Went to CA public schools. I love my state, nation, community and people. I want school to be a place where people can learn, be leaders and make society a better place for everybody. What happened in UCSD was racist bullshit. With the fee increases, half undocumented students had to drop out. Regents protest in November. Repression from administration. They fear of our power. What the movement did was right. We need to continue to do it. Solidarity? Organize for protest. What does solidarity mean in action? Solidarity is based on principles. Coming together as groups, and individuals. No see eye to eye, but supporting each other to achieve goal. Change potential and repression. November 20 empowerment. After, people felt conflicted and disillusioned. Potential for goals to be met by administration and powers that be if all students call to action on March 4. Students, staff, faculty can make possible a better university. Community can be represented in schools as doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers, where we can use art and be creative. School can be a place where we speak our minds and feel safe. We scheduled event to understand movement through art and dialogue. No pacifica radio because of repression. Administration don't want us to protest. Don't give into divide and rule politics. If you are tired of racist statements in class, this movement is for you. Not the time to be scapegoats. Now is the time to be heard, to fight back.
