    • Seance

Seance explores the relationship between the physical mortal body/work of an artist, the art that transcends that body/mortality, and the many intimate relationships that work may have with viewers and spaces as it continues to live beyond the body/mortal life of its maker. As I am working in video the flying birds in the video are intentionally very much referencing the image making process(electronic interlacing) of video. This is important to me because I am exploring these ideas as both a ...

    • Body Dam

    • Turn The Light Out

turn the light out is an exploration of reaction. How do we respond to eachother? Are our understandings of presence and absence definable and separate? Can we find calm? Seven manipulations of the same action (shot) reference the days of the week creating a minimal/narrative which ends with a feeling of release and balance. Maybe even rest.

    • Sparkler

Sparkler is a quiet visual poem. Cigarettes are adult sparklers. I think this work plays with what we thought we would be. Our joyous hopes as children when we claimed our names in fire and air and the adult identity tries to name what those hopes are now cloaked in. The burning cigarette becomes a metaphor for that passage from child to adult.
