In the first of three special Neon and Waltzes episodes, we follow a group of musicians and songwriters who collaborate around the songwriters showcase at Music Row Bar and Grill in Nashville. These are some of the best new artists working in different genres in Music City. In this episode, we feature just performances, filming what we hope captures a night at this intimate venue. This week's performance includes: Damien Horne, a hybrid urban and folk songwriter with a single 'Novacaine' on radio this week; Shawna P a fiery songstress from Alabama with pure mother-earth energy who mixes soul and 70's southern rock; Jess Langer who is defining a new less formulaic country sound influenced by Jeff Buckley, Sara McLaughlin and the Sundays; Sara Jane, a shimmering, sultry chanteuse who sings jazz influenced pop - she's just wonderful and hard to categorize.
