We have just completed a major clearing and road project a Earth Sanctuary. When the Earth Sanctuary property was purchased, one parcel had been hard logged and was covered with mainly unhealthy trees and Himalayan Blackberries. At the end of 2008, we are now planting over 1,000 new trees in groves to create an arboretum. Come and see the new "baby forest!"
Heidi Oman tells of Earth Sanctuary's plans to plant another 300 trees in the Winter of 2007. All of this is part of Earth Sanctuary's 500-year plant to proactively create an old-growth forest.

During the early summer, we close off the Wetland Trail between the Cottonwood Stone Circle and the Fen lookout for the benefit of the nesting Ospreys. The fledging is out of the nest now and so the trail is open again. Here's a short charming video by Heidi that I took while she was clearing the trail.
